If you have the Mono tubes just drain the oil and take your ride. If they are leaking you probably have more oil in there than is needed for lube anyway. Most that I have read here don't use much oil with the mono tubes. Fix the stanchions when you get back. Sand down the gouges with fine emery paper and replace seals. The stanchions are pretty hard steel so they shouldn't be so deep that you remove enough material that new seals would leak.
