Default Rider backrest

I'm thinking of adding a rider backrest to my Street Glide. Harley adjustable, Harley standard, aftermarket? Looking for reviews to see what people are happy with.

I currently have a sundowner seat with Steet Glide stitching and plan to add the back rest to match but am not sure which mounting style to go with.

I've asked a few of the dealers if I'm able to demo one as they have that program with seats but not the case with back rests. Appreciate any help.

I've been using the Harley adjustable backrest on my '05. I only us it for long trips but it's been great for that.

Probably about 5 or 6 pages deep now I posted up a thread titled "Harley or Mustang backrest." it seems the overall consensus was that the Mustang was a clear winner. I've got one on order! (^_-)

Cheers

I can't comment on the Harley one but I had a Mustang on my 07, loved it. Got the little bracket that allowed me to mount it on my 2012.

I have the Harley adjustable back rest and like it. I would defiantly go with an adjustable back rest as I find myself moving it back the further I go.

I used to use the unadjustable HD backrest. It was hard to remove or reposition. I got an adjustable HD backrest for my 06 RKC. It is really good. I can change the position on the fly and it is easy to remove at night. I vote for the adjustable HD backrest.
Ride on.

Get the HD adjustable or the Mustang.

I wouldn't worry about getting the "matching SG stitching".
I went with the plain and it will go with any seat you buy in the future.

I ordered aftermarket, because cost is a big issue with me. Found one very similar to the HD here http://www.jmeimotor.com/servlet/StoreFront

Cost $144 shipped. Works for me, but you do have to take the seat off to adjust, which I need to do. Want to move it forward.
