I have the HD adjustable like it a lot, on my Road King you could almost see the bracket and the backrest appeared high because of the seat, on the Electra Glide the bracket can't be scene at all. Not sure if the SG as a low profile seat? BTW I tried the EG seat on the RK and it covered it like the EG.

I got the harley adjustable back rest because the stitch pattern matched my seat. Can't imagine going without a backrest now. Either one you get I'm sure you'll be pleased.

Cost $144 shipped. Works for me, but you do have to take the seat off to adjust, which I need to do. Want to move it forward.

The backrest kit appears to be the same shape and mounting as the H-D part. Is this an aftermarket part? How did you find the quality of the backrest and mounting hardware?

Thanks for your input.

I have used the Harley standard backrest on my last 4 Harleys. I have it on my cvo roadglide and on a road king. They can be adjusted fore and aft and also the stop on the backrest can be adjusted with a thumbscrew. Once you get it right, its great. To take if off is a simple 5 sec job and there is no plastic adjustment lever visible under the seat unlike the adjustable one. I recommend it if you take the trouble to mount the bracket yourself since you can play with it before you torque all the bolts tight.
