I think I need a backrest on my 2012 Heritage Softail like I have had on other bikes in the past. Any recommendations? I like the Mustang seats, however the Mustang rider seats with the backrest were very uncomfortable if I rode them without the backrest in the rider seat....At least on the Yamaha Road Stars that I have had. Felt like my backside was up against a metal bar in the seat. I see that Ebay has some rider backrests that fit the stock seat, however most of them are not adjustable. Anyone have any one of those or a Mustang seat with the rider backrest? Are you happy and comfortable with them? I am 6'2" tall and need some more back support.
Need ideas please if y'all would be so kind
Thanks a lot!
Phil
I had the Mustang on my last three bikes. I preferred the narrower sport model as I'm a shorter person. I tried most everything on the market and always went back to the Mustang. The only time I ever removed the backrest was when packing double.
Love the Mustang vintage solo; had these on my last 3 bikes and don't think I will ever change to anything else; great for long rides (500mls + / day...)
Thanks Mr. Softy. Sounds like the Ultimate is a great seat!
However for now, being one to try and save money.....see I did say try.....since I am still not working currently, I bought a Grasshopper Rider Backrest off Ebay. For $79.00 it doesn't hurt too bad and later I can get an Ultimate or Mustang when I am among the working class again.
