Looking to change the mufflers on a new road king. I don't want loud, just a bit more sound than the stockers with better flow than the stock ones. I'll be adding a stage 1 A/F too.I know there must be some out there that wanted the same thing. What mufflers did you get ? Much louder? All input appreciated.
probably what you are looking for is either the HD SE performance touring muffler or something from the supertrapp/kerker se series. don't forget if you are changing the AC and the mufflers you are going to have to do something about the fuel management. sert or pcIII you will get different opinions about which one, either will do the job fine on a stage 1 bike.
in mho because I have been there I would spend the extra ( not that much ) for a supertrapp supermeg 2-1 instead of the slipons. heat problems go away, lots more usable power and no louder than the se's at highway speeds.don't worry about the look, you get over that really quick like the first time you head down the street.
I just put on the Supertrapp SE slip-on's with a SERT and SE Air cleaner. I'm told it will provide a little deeper sound then stock, but improve performance by 10 to 15%. I can't vouch for it yet because too much ice and snow to ride.
Check out Rush! I just ordered a set and you can get different size baffels for different volume levels. Google them and listen to their sound clips. $280 a set is a great price also!! Bryan
