Default Do I need a FuelPak?

Want to put new V&H Slip-ons on my 08 Streetglide, but not sure if I need the Fuelpak or not. The air filter is stock and I wasnt going to change that, any advice is appreciated. Thx.

I think for the price of a fuelpak you might as well get a stage one air cleaner and download.

Listen for decel popping. If there isn't any I wouldn't worry. You can normally change either the slip ons or the AC and be fine. When you do both is when you lean out and need to tune. I just did slip ons and no AC...I have no popping on decel but I want to do the AC later and will buy a tuner at that point.

I had good luck with the fuelpak on my '06. It's one of the simplest devices on the market. You might as well do the air cleaner to reap all the benefits. You'll be surprised at the difference.

Did the V&H slip-ons on my 08. V&H suggested (of course they did) a Fuelpak at the same time. 5 years later with no Fuelpak and bike runs flawlessly. Save your money.

Unless your going to change your air cleaner, you wont need a fuelpak. I did just slip-ons when I first got the bike. That winter I changed the air and got a fuelpak. Dont waste your money on a harley download. They have to be E.P.A compliant and your bike will still run lean.

I had vance&hines pipes, big sucker air cleaner and a fuelpak as a temporary setup on my 103. I didn't bother with any stage one upgrades knowing it would be temporary. The bike ran great with that setup and would recommend the fuelpak.

Dealers and dealership will say you do. Most riders here say you don't. The difference is the people here aren't trying to make a dollar.

Some will argue. But if that's all you're going to do, then it's good enough. And better than the HD EPA compliant download. And you can usually find a used one cheap in the classified section when somebody decides to go beyond stage 1 mods. I even used the FP for awhile after I did the 95" kit and cam upgrades.
