Yea, I know, they haven't made a Road King Custom since 2007.
But I'm thinking I just may.
I have a pretty good offer on the table for my '07 and I'm thinking of picking up a '13 Standard Road King and converting it to a FLHRS. It would be a fairly mild build to make it look identical to my '07. I'm surprised I haven't seen it done, Whatda think?
I think it would be too cost prohibitive. New RKC front fender (dunno if it'll bolt up to a '13 front end)RKC Fuel console won't interchange with '13,different seat, bars, wheels,bags,mini-fairing...not to mention all the little RKC details & all the regular mods you are gonna wanna do..All that total prolly cost as much as the bike itself.
You have one really RIGHTEOUS looking Custom. Actually looks like an oversize Switchback, only better. I would keep it & spend the money on something else.
I love my '07; it was a great year for RKs.---no TBW, but still get the 96" & 6-speed.
I have a 07 FLHRS and my only complaint is the bags are on the smallish side for a road
trip. I have four different sizes of T Bags to compensate, it's a great bike as is.
I always thought they should have continued making the Road King Custom. By the way, yours is a beauty. However, I think the Street Glide won out with the stripped down, hotrod bagger look. Hey, if you have the money and want to spend it on the conversion, I think it would be a great lookin' motorcycle.
