Front End Mods?
Anpumes, you start by talking about suspension, then get distracted by bars and stuff! I'm another fabrik8r customer, with his modified Intiminators, currently doing a major rebuild, so I can't comment on the ride yet, but I reckon they are going to be as good as is available at present. I have Emulators in another bike and am not impressed, so cannot recommend them.
Howard is working behind the scenes on an Ohlins cartridge fork, which I suspect will be the ultimate front end solution, with external damping and spring adjustment, but may not be available just yet.

I actually plan to. I'm want to educate myself more prior to doing so, however.

Cant help on the suspension as I'm still running the stock setup. Not gonna be much help on the bars- but my bike is in the shop right now having LA Choppers 10 inch twin peaks bars put on it. I'm 6'2" also, with most of that in my torso. I also wanted to keep my hands behind the fairing.
Heres the link to the modified valves

Im running monotubes and they are a big improvement over the stock forks. Easy install as they replace the guts of your stock forks and eliminate the possible oil leaks etc since they are a sealed cartridge replacement. I stay with these over the Harley cartridges, easier install and a lot more of them out there being used.
But if I was going to do it over again I think Id install Race Tech Gold Valves or Intimadators with different springs. i like the idea od more adjust ability with different spring rates and oils that you dont have with the monotubes.

Wait! Are these them? They are so small. I assume you need springs with them that match? I'll read more, sorry... bit shocked by their size, not what I expected.
That last bit about doing it over Xaran is quite insightful. I'm with you adjust-ability makes sense.
You can afford to skim through many of those pages, but it is still wise to have a decent meal first! Both Intiminators and Emulators are installed with conventional springs. The part that contacts the springs is the large diameter part.
I read through pretty much that whole thread, all 32 pages of it... Whew! I did skim over some stuff. What an informative bit of writing. I think I understand more about shocks now, at least the front forks (no, probably not).
