Actually everything I've been told about the SERT you can too make adjustments with a laptop etc.
In all honestythe SERT is way cool. It can do all the stuff you can do with a PCIII and more. Some things are easier with a PCIII though. Like map sharing so I hear, not positive.
But I've never heard anyone having a problem with the SERT itself. It does have that over a PCIII.
If I win the lottery, my next bike will have a SERT just so I can see whats so great about it.
I have a PCIII if you're wondering. And having no problems.
I'm a recent SERT purchaser. I'm happy. Still too green on the learning curve to comment much. I did install myself. Was not complicated at all. I believe the PCIII is a good product too. I don't think you could go wrong with either choice. It is a bummer that you cannot take it (SERT)with you to another bike. lp has a point about effectively accessing something that is already there and HD getting money for this too. I look at it like purchasing another tool (speciality tool), hopefully if or when I sell my bike the new owner will see / understand the value of this tool too. There is no question the PCIII is less expensive and is flexable. I am sure that the guys who are having some diffulucties at present will get them worked out.... this is how WE LEARN, and is in my opinion " a welcome" to the world of electronics, every software has it's glitches, thats why we have up-dates V4.6.1 etc... I would guess the new O2 sensors will give us some grief for awhile but I am SURE these new parameters will be better understood and become eaisly compensated for shortly. To the guys who are having PCIII issues... STICK WITH IT, yes I know it may be frustrating, but understand, you are helping our bikingcommunity, both by helping future newbee types like myself get their bikes dialed in easier, and by helping to develop new performance options. Debate is healthy, options are a good problem to have. Think of the alternative. No CHOICES..
Wow Street Glide, after reading all of that bad press and you are still going for it? I have the same bike you do and I ain't happy with my PCIII. I'm not bashing either. THE FACT IS I have had it dyno'd by a guy Power Commander recommends and it still sputters and hesitates coming off the line. People who have bought from Jamie have had the same problem. Again, I'm not slamming Jamie either but it's obvious that there is a problem with PC. PC knows they have a problem and beforeI bought one, I would wait to see them fix it. Had I bought a SERT to begin with, I would have only spent an extra $120 and would be in a much better mood right now. Good luck.
I figured taking the chance on the PCIII was the way I wanted to go. The bike now has V&H Dresser Duels,SE AC, Wild Pig pipes and the HD ECM Stagge 1 flash. If after installing the PCIII it does not run to my liking I still have the option of returning it to the way it is now by removing the PCIII. If DynoJet comes along and fixes the things everyone says is wrong with it I will then have that applied to mine.
I have a question. Is it better to run the PCIII with a factory stage I download installed or the factory map that come's stock on a new '07? I havn't heard this mentioned before. Does it make a differance? thx, Putt
Also, how do you include a picture on your post's? thx
To include a picture in a post it can be added to your signature through your profile here as the one in my signature. Or if it is to be included in just the post you are replying to you type the following:
And the picture will appear in the post. I hope this helps.

As I understand it, as long as the map is for the set up you are running it should not matter. You would not want a map set up for a stock Ecm If you have a Stage 1 flashed ECM or the other way around. That is why they need your set up when mapping the unit. Then the unit adjusts the ECM output to the map and richens or leans according to the map settings and that is what goes to the injectors.
Please crrect me if I am wrong guys as I am just learning also.
