I really like the fairing mirrors. The looks are much more appeasing and I think they actually work better. I have no vibrations from them at all and can see perfectly. I installed 12 inch bars and left the mirrors in the same place. I can see out of them but is much easier if I remove my hand from the bars. Not a problem on the high way. I always throw an eye over my shoulder to double check and look at eth blind spot.
I like the fairing mounted mirrors. But then I could care less whats behind me. I only worry about whats in front of me or beside me. I actually turn my head and look unlike a lot of people I see.
I was thinking about going that direction as well. I wish I could move them out some instead of up. Did moving them up seem to give you better review site? All stock seems as if I'm looking at my elbow and I have to move it up our suck it in to see around it.
I'm 6' tall and moving them up gives me an unrestricted view behind.
I use the MOCO split view fairing mirrors, move them 1" up and out. Also mounted them upside down so the wide angle lens are at bottom. Works great. The mounting pad will cover the OEM holes.
Only slight downside, the "objects closer" etched on the mirrors are upside down.
Kuryakyn has a filler for the holes, it doesnt look to bad. I have the fairing mirrors and they are fine even with the wild ones 575 bars. if you go to a taller bar though you will loose the ability to use the mirrors. on the other hand, I like mine!

The jury is still out if I'm gonna keep my SG mirrs.
I went from bar mounted to fairing mount and love the look. No vibration or any other issues, but I raised them 3/4 of an inch so I don't look at the back of my knuckles. I also added a pair of MOCO chrome covers with turn signal LED's in them.
