On my SG I unbolted the antennae bracket and strapped it to the saddle bag support. I then ran the stock antennae up the support and along the frame with the wires.
Seems to work as good as before and only cost a few wire ties and a plug for the hole.
gonna give this method a go after work today. i like my radio and dont wanna lose reception.
I used power antena fr. Pep Boys but when I put a y splitter and used it in conjuction with the original antena wire wraped under my seat it worked the best. Burn yourself a mp3 cd using the data option and you can get 120-150 songs on it.
Well that was easy.. worked like a charm. took off seat, bag and side cover and routed it under and thru. took off antenna, removed mount and remounted almost horizontally using only one of the bolts on the the bracket using loctite to make sure it stays. then route antenna up thru where the wires go theres a nice little hole i was able to squeeze the antenna thru. only took one zip tie to hold it down to frame. i did have to cut about 3 or 4 inches off the tip to make it fit a little easier. i could have made it work as is but was comfortable losing a little bit of antenna without much worry. just gotta hunt down one of those plugs now.

I just got this one also. Seems to work fine and it's only $25.
