Default Dyno tune question

After hearing a lot of good things about MGS I decided to pick up a set of their true duals. I'm currently running a Cobra powerport into Rush big Louie with the 2.5in baffles. With my 107" build I'm at 112h/122t with this setup.

My tuner finally got around to installing the MGS pipes today and after an hour on the dyno he gave me a call with some not so good news. Right now I've lost 3hp and haven't gained any peak torque at all. He did say they come on a little bit faster but my current setup catches up pretty quickly.

My question is this. Should I

1. Tell him to continue? Looking at 3 hours minimum at about $90 per hour. He believes he can get back the lost hp but does not know about torque.

2. Put my old exhaust back on and call it a day?

He did say he is impressed with the looks and sound but right now to me that is a moot point. I'm kind of leaning toward telling him to keep going. I know tuning takes time and with no torque loss certainly I should gain a few. What say you?

hp-wieght ratio,if your worried about 3 hp look at the weight difference.at about 10#per hp a 30#wieght difference would be a break even.

If you are worried about the 3 ponies have him keep tuning. If it was me I would not be to worried, I would not be able to feel 3 horse power either way. Really you are bought a change in sound and looks. If you were looking to increase torque you shoul have picked up a 2-1.

I believe ultimately I'll end up with a 2-1 before all is said and done. To be honest I was wanting to get back some bottom end torque. He did say he got a consistent 5lb gain on the bottom so all isn't lost. If he can bump that to 8 or more I'll take the hp hit and be done with it.

I'd much rather gain 5 pounds down low where I ride instead of some horse power up top that i'd never see. Sounds like it will work out good for you though, just sucks having to shell out for a couple extra hours of dyno time. It'll be worth it in the long run.
