Default Saddle Bag Carpet Liner?

I’ve been thinking about getting some indoor/outdoor carpet to line the inside of my saddle bags with. I’m leaning towards indoor/outdoor carpet because it’s thin enough that it doesn’t take up too much space, but would still give enough padding for things getting rattled around inside the bags. I’m thinking some of that industrial strength spray epoxy might do the trick to hold the carpet, even in the heat.
Also, if I decide to go with this, I’ve also heard of guys lining their bags with a lighter color carpet (white or grey) so that they can see what is inside the bags, with the lighter color providing contrast to mostly black stuff that is in the bags.
Anybody have any experience with this and willing to shoot a couple of pics? Perhaps some do’s and don’t’s? And yes I know, measure twice cut once.

Check out Hogliners, just installed them into my bags. They come precut and ready to install, plus you get a filler panel for the bottom of the bags that makes them flat ,all you need is some sort of spray adhesive like loctite or 3m products. Mine turned out great and it was like $50 + shipping.

Other than the price why not try these?

Or for $50 you could get these already cut to fit.

Here's another.

And there a plenty more options out there if you do a web search. Beats trying to cut the material yourself.

All kinds of ready made kits on the market which (in the long run) will save you time and money. Personally, I use the HD liners, and although kind of thick, I can still easily use my soft luggage, and being black has not been an issue finding stuff on the bottom. I like the idea of being able to REMOVE them anytime I need to. Using glue to make them permanent scares me.

That looks sweet for $50: http://www.hogliners.com/gallery.html
I wish Hog Liners mad a kit for my CVO bags.

To the OP, your indoor/outdoor carpet idea is way thicker than this stuff.
and I would do the gray. This looks like what Top Shop put in my extended bags on my old bike.
That flat floor is sweet.

I finally found the liners I had on a previous bike. They are made my Custom Chrome. They have a velcro strip that mounds around the top inside edge of the saddlebag. You then slip the liner into the saddlebag and attach at the top with the velcro. No gluing of the liner into the saddlebag and easy removal for cleaning. They worked great in my previous bike and I might have to get a set for my new Annie.

I used the ones from drag specialty. Very thin so you can slip HD liner bags inside them too. They are pre cut. Look at the shapes of the kit pieces online to give you ideas. They are also stretchable so fitting a pre-glued panel is adjustable. You can overlap the corners if need be then trim with razor. Mine are black. I thought I was getting grey... but black is fine. The only thing I'm careful about is putting anything velcro in the bag. It will cling to the liner if not mated.

Go to an upholstery shop and have them done professionally. For the price difference, the end result is night & day !! Found a small shop in Vegas to do mine. Fast & inexpensive !!

Hogliners are available for the CVO bags. They list them on eBay and run $68 I think. I installed their black liners in my V-Twin CVO bags. It's a real nice kit.
