HD web site says 302 for the rear tire, 236 for the front. Add tax and 1 hour labor per end. 290 is a livable figure if installed.

I think the rear Dunlop is about $300 retail so $290 sounds like a good price if that is mounted. About the only way to do better would be buy aftermarket at discount and find a shop to mount it. Been pricing some aftermarket tires, American Elite, Metzler and Michelin, all run about $180-$200 discount plus mounting for rear.

I think last one I had done by dealer was $50 off tire retail price plus an hour labor. My dealer also offered to order tires from one of the major aftermarket catalogs and them mount it but I suspect that would not be discounted off retail price.

The stock Dunlop D407 runs $301.95 MSRP. My dealer offers an occasional Dunlop special. Just my luck this early spring the offer was on. I needed a new rear D407. I was down to 1/32". The total price tire, tax & labor = $190.88. To me, that is a smoking deal. Normally if they change the tire on the bike it is $90 labor, off the bike (you bring them the wheel and tire) is $45.

Dunlop American Elite Harley-Davidson Replacement Rear Tire - 207 for the 180 width version.

Surprisingly not too bad of a markup. I'd look locally for an install/balance price and figure out what point is worth the premium of HD doing it.

Damn that's a good deal. Around here $400 or so for a rear tire w/install is the norm. So when I saw the $237 for a rear tire I jumped on it.

After listening to them stick almost $800 labor on $1k worth of add ons to the guy before me. All easy stuff to like grips floorboards etc.

I'm a little worried lol

So what's a fair price for stock rear tire on a 2011 SG
You should have told the guy you could help off set his cost by doing those easy add-ons. That would have paid for your tire.

Not a lot of shops around here either. Got a good deal on ebay and the dealer stole ever bit of it and some. Even tried to double his take (I had got a price on the phone for a carry in wheel and tire before buying tire). When I got the bill it was twice what they had quoted a week before. After some back and forth chatter, the man (who had rolled the tire and rim back) said he thought they had taken it off bike. Also told me mounting would be free if I had gotten their tire. They charged me close to $100 to mount and balance. Their man did take more then an hour however..I watched him do it. And he did a good job. Tire is shake free as fast as I ever ride. However what I took off was not balanced and it did not shake either. Good tires and Harley cast wheels are just about perfect these days.

Wow. I'm just now getting used to the Harley experience. My last rear tire change on my BMW was $190.00
