Yeah, I have two bikes so I went with the HF tirechanger years ago. Last summer I did the mojo block upgrade on it and bought the mojo bar. Works even better. Couple that with a tire balance and I'm good changing my own, but YMMV. Mine has paid for itself several times over.
Dealership here total for the 407 Rear Dunlop HD WWW for my '11 RKC with new tube, rim liner, installed, tax, and all critical fasteners checked (No extra for this) is $400.00 out the door every day.
Sales, discounts come along every now and then, kind of rare when you need it you know...
I like the tri-compound Dunlops, plan to stay with them for a while.
I recently needed new tires for my ride. Two local dealers both quoted me over $700 installed. I live in a large metro area, with lots of competition. I ended up getting them done for $550 at an indy a buddy recommended to me.
Larry, come on now, $168??? You smokin some good skit!
Bwana
Nope! Uncle Larry is right. I received an email from Brighton Harley about their Dunlop tire special. Stopped in after work on a Friday and that is correct, $168 any Dunlop tire, but they must mount it. So, I ponied up the bucks, was third in line and then out the door one hour later for a cool $190.88. That is includes Michigan's 6% sales tax. Sweet!!

I would say $290 for a rear is a fair deal.
Which dealer in the valley did you end up going to? I am in Mesa and need a rear...

A dealership in Denver always has a $10 install on any tire on a bike you ride in. Then they will look for other stuff to fix. Rear Dunlop for my heritage softail would be $230 somthing out the door with tube and everything.
I do a lot ( most ) of my own work ... Been turning wrenches most of my life ... It's hard to take your ride to someone else ... Will they take time, care and have the patience to do the job right ... Will they treat your ride as you would ... We're all a bit **** when it comes to our hobbies and can't help but think that no one would be as "great" as we are ... Tires are another story ... Having said that, if any of you are in/near the Southeastern area of Michigan I should let you in on a great tire value. Brighton Harley Davidson runs a sale for any Harley, any tire, mounted balanced and installed on the bike ( while you wait in many cases ) for $168.00 plus tax front or rear. That's it except for taxes. Blackwall/ Whitewall included. Now some of you may not think that this is fantastic but consider the new ( 2009 and up baggers ) tires on te baggers and this is a hell of a deal. I should note that if you've got spoked wheels there is an extra charge for a new tube and rim liner but you still get out the door for under $200.00 and you haven't even got your hands dirty! http://www.brightonhd.com/newsletter.htm
Well, Uncle Larry, name your poison, because I owe you a drink! I was in need of front and rear, and lo and behold, I read your post (Friday). I couldn't believe my eyes after visiting their website with the link you provided. Called the next morning (Saturday) and had two new tires Saturday afternoon. American Elites installed for 173.90 each (tax not included)!!! Still can't believe it! I went ahead and had them throw in 4 wheel bearings while they were in there.
Seriously, I owe you a drink - send me an e-mail sometime and we'll meet. Can't thank you enough.
