Default Brembo Upgrade ??

Looking for some help here please..........Im upgrading to the brembo brakes from the master cylinder to the calipers on an 05' electra glide classic and I would like to know if theres any certain way to run the brake line thats runs inside the fairing to the master cylinder without any obstructions? like a stuck throttle or something? cause we all know we dont need that?

Thanx for any pics or help on this.

I would imagine an EG is sorta like the RG, in that the brake line from the master cylinder runs down to a block which is hard mounted. Then the 2 lines run from that block to the calipers. I'd run the new in the same position as the old.

A very worthwhile upgrade! Good Luck!!

I just did this with my 01 EGC, nothing special about it. It is straight forward.

This is a related question, don't take offense if it seems I'm hijacking. I'm going to do the same conversion on a '00. Can I use my front brake lever? Or do I have to get '08+ lever? I have chrome levers and don't want to have buy another set. Is there any advantage using the '08+ Brembo MC over the '07- Nissin?.

I have read that the up-to '07 MC is as much to blame for poor brake performance as the spongy calipers are. Best that you change the MC and calipers. I have read where some only changed the MC and got a lot better performance with out changing the calipers.

As for me, and my '03 EGC, we will replace all related parts! Scored a MC, lines, and both calipers on ebay for $166! Just waiting on them and a front SG wheel with rotors I picked up from Airborne314 on here, to come in and do the install.

Changing the MC is crucial along with the brake lines IMO. Only saw a nominal change doing the calipers and rotors while I got new levers etc. Already had HD stainless brake lines which were fine-don't know about using the OEM rubber lines.

Dramatic improvement on front brake power.

Your old brake lever will not work in the brembo master cylinder they are a different shape. I hear that the brembo MC is a much better Improvement over the older style, I have yet to notice the difference myself.

I understand all that thanks, But my question was I didnt take note or any pics as to how my original line routed through the fairing In between all the cables and wiring from the block to the master cylinder? The original line is hard piped where as the Brembo line is a flexible rubber I just wanted to make sure that its routed properly through the mess so that I didnt have any binding on the throttle cables and wiring and so forth a safety concern is all?

My calipers/lines/mc came in today and after looking at them, I see what you are talking about. On an up to '07 there is a hardline that runs from the MC down the bar and into the fairing through a grommet. What we need is someone to post a pic of the way the hose routes from the MC down the bar and into the fairing on an '08+ to see if it goes through the grommet or what.
