51mm carb on stock TC88?
Heres the situtation,
My beloved EVO got totaled and I purchased a 2000 electra gide with a twin cam 88. The stock cv carb has a crack in the body and is not usable. I found a screaming eagle 51mm superbore carb for a good price. I am ready to buy the carb, but would I be able to run this carb safely without harming my engine? I have true duals on the bike now, but I still think 51mm might be a little much for a 88' engine. Opinions, expirence? Thanks.

too big- even though it too is a CV carb.
a larger carb ( throttle body) opening means that the velocity of the air moving through it is slower.
slower moving air will not pull gas from the jets and mix it as well.
slow moving mixture will not fill the cylinder as well.
a CV carb should be under $100 at a swap ( I used to buy them for $40 ish and mod them to taste)
the superbore will be awesome if you only ride above 5000 rpms !
you would also need a new intake manifold to match the carb
