I have a 660 on my Road King but a buddy bought a Road Tech 665 and we were installing it on his Ultra yesterday. First of all my 660 came with a handlebar mounting bracket but his did not. I am using the HD chrome Zumo mount and was gonna give him mine but went another route. Then the XM antenna looks like one that would be on the dash of a car instead of on a bike. I searched last night and found this referenced to as a puck so that is it? Reason I ask is he bought the NIM and where it is stamped to secure the antenna, just doesn't look right.
So 2 questions.
Should the 665 come with a handlebar mount?
Should the XM antenna be a 3" round puck looking device?

No, and Yes. The "puck" is the antenna. As for the mount, most folks use the faring mount for bikes with a fairing. However you can also use the handlebar mount if that's what you like. There are other options as well, such as klockwerk nav bag, and kury makes a fuel door mount. However since your buddy is using the NIM then the Zumo need to be in the cradle and linked to the bike. So the easiest, cleanest, and most effective way to mount it with out wires running all over is the faring mount.
Also when using the NIM you attach just the NIM module underneath antenna mount. The spot where it says "antenna" you DO NOT use with the newer models. If you put the "puck" there, it will interfere with the windshield. The antenna should be mounted with double stick on the top of the stereo head unit under the fairing.
Here you can see the NIM mount (the brass colored flat metal piece mounted to the right fairing support bracket) the NIM module is mounted to the underside of the bracket. The antenna isn't visible but it mounted on top of the radio under the wiring harness.
Here you can see the faring mount on the upper left side of the inner faring without the Zumo attached.
Thanks everybody as that should help. Already came to the conclusion that the puck should not go on the NIM bracket so it is going on the stereo. Odd thing about that is they put an anti slip sponge type material on the bottom of the antenna and the double sided adhesive that came with the kit would not stick to the bottom.
As far as my 660, it is not a Road Tech/HD version, just the Zumo 660 so must be why it came with a handlebar mount.

Interesting. I purchased a Garmin Zumo 665LM which came with a handlebar mount, a clutch mount, and a suction cup mount. Then I downloaded the free Harley-Davidson locations. Personally, I just toss the XM antenna in my swing arm bag and don't want a more permanent antenna mount since I also listen to XM radio "off" the bike and out of the automobile.
