I have had my King Classic sense June 28 of 05. Love the bike and all its about. I had my 1k service done about 2 weeks ago sense I have bben back for a blinker switch that went south. I am buying new mufflers now than the air breather upgrade and a TFI box and will install all at once. Should I spend the money for a dyno tune or go with the recommended setting? Also well the heat off of the rear cylinder area deminish some after all these changes? The bike is stock for right now. Any advice/help would be greatful as this is my first Harley after riding for 20 years!
Dyno tune is obviously the best option, however, the downloaded MAP will get you in the ball park. For my money, I wouldn't bother with a dyno tune unless I were having some Stage II work done...but it's a matter of personal preference.
I don't know that it's going to make your rear cyclinder any cooler either. I just put a set of Rineharts on my ride, getting rid of that crossover pipe seemed to have cooled off the right side by the passengers foot, my right thigh seems to have cooled it off some.
Congrats on that RKC, if you go with slip-ons, you will still have the cross-over, so the heat will be the same I would think. Keep us posted on your mods, and hope you enjoy the forums.
