Do any of you have experience using this device with lightning based ipod or iPhone and an adapter - does it work??
I've been thinking about purchasing the HDDPlus2 for this same application. I emailed Iron Cross Audio they told me it works fine with the Lightning Adapter with an iPhone 5. It's now on the list for procurement......
An up date with the cables. I was putting my ipod inside of my saddlebags with the wire just coming out of the top and closing the lid. Well, after time I have noticed my speakers were shutting off. Mostly the right side. Thought my MM651s were going bad again... Well, it comes out it is my wire being pinched between the lid and saddle bag. I should have known better. I will be cutting out a notch with a grommet now. I had to order a new wire. Just some info for everyone.

Does the iPod shuffle function work with the HDPD Plus 2?
Thanks.
Yes it will. I have an ipod classic. I had to change out the hard drive with a SD card. Hard drive was crashing from the vibration. Now, no hard drive. It was a pain taking the ipod apart, but well worth the trouble.
I have an HDPDPlus installed and using a lightning adapter for both my iPhone 5S and ipod. I have not had an issue with either, even charges them to boot!
I got my HDDPlus2 last christmas and it came with a 3 ft cable so I ordered the extension cable at the same time. I ended up not using the extension and mounted my ipod under my fairing. I have the extension if anyone needs one in the touring for sale section.
