+Hey guys. I have an 09 Road King. Im getting ready to go to a stage 1 kit. The problem I am having is the EFI tuner. I have done my research and totally understand how they work. My problem is that I can't get the answer I am looking for.
I am wondering if there is one out there that will give me a lower idle. Not so much that I lose oil pressure but one that will make my bike just low enough to give me a nice "gurgle" at idle.
Any help would be appreciated.
Not happening.
Your remembering the sound of a carburated 88 inch or something other than a efi.
Some fuel management devices will let you drop the rpm to lower than 1000 rpm, but in order to do that you have to run very, very rich, too rich. If you idle a late model twin cam below 950 rpms you will not have enough oil pressure to be healthy. Oil is squirted up into the underside of the crown of the piston to specifically aid cooling. Again, you will loose that if you get much below 950 rpm. Modern fuel injection will just not let you get that potato-potato-potato sound which was once so popular on the older carbed bikes. If it wasn't for the EPA, Harley would probably still be using carbs.
If you really want the potato potato sound you gota put a monster cam in, no .575 no .600 lift ya gota go big or go home here is a vid of my .660 lift T-Man 662-2 camed potato potato SG https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v...type=2&theater
My biggest issue is the Harley Dealer here is a jackwagon and they overcharge so if do decide to go with the serpt i have to deal with them. Can I do that one myself?
I've decided to go with Cobra true duel headers and a set of V&H mufflers that I already have. I think I'm gonna go with the power commander. It seems to have more variables that I would like. And I believe I am going with the Ness Big sucker
