Default Tool kit

Lost a throttle cable on a run this weekend. Was close to a shop so was no real problem. Got me to thinking though. What would you guys include in a best all around tool kit, unless of course they already sell one. My RoadKing has some metric sht on it I think, don't really know because I rarely turn wrenches.

snap on makes a harley kit nice but they are very proud of it.add a pair of vise grips that have a cutter inside the jaws and a small bundle of wire u can use it to tie up all kinds of stuff.or clamp on the vise grips to use as a shifter.

Check this out.

For about 80 bucks you can have all the tools you need. Just add a bit of duct tape and some zip ties and done.

For about 50 bucks there is this smaller one.

I have that second kit and am happy with it. Has everything I would need in a pinch.

I too have the smaller set and it's been very handy. I have my Harley tool kit in the other saddlebag...just in case....

I just finished the 1,000 mile service on my Ultra and found out that the bike is a mix of SAE, metric and Torx. It seems to have more fastener standards than a 1960's Triumph; well, not quite.

Skipper - Not sure what kind of bike you ride, but I have lost several cables in the past many years. I carry one in the bottom of my tour pack. It's a cheap insurance policy while out on LONG trips. Local rides not so bad there are planty of friends with trailers.

My tool kit has way toooo much stuff in it but ya never know what can happen. It's a mixture of old parts and extra tools out of my tool box.

It all boils down to "what do you anticipate" for WHERE you're going.
