Looks good Iceman, now you can honestly say that you have gone Ape over your RK. I have never ridden a bike with apes, does it hamper riding the twisties?
A buddy of mine has 16" Apes on his RK, yours look very far forward, why not rotate them back just a smidge and see how they feel? You'll proably get the best of both worlds.
Front end looks really clean with the internal wiring and the SS cables...nice job!

I was thinking about this, and actually, when i got the bike back, the bars were rotated back just far enough where the windshield still fit. but in the 5 miles i rode it like that, it felt like i was "holding myself up", like the bars were too far back. the next few weeks is just going to have to be trial and error until ican get it just right. hell, i'm in no hurry, i just want it to turn out right. i'll be sure to keep everyone updated.
Hey I wanted to ask about the Rienhart exhaust. I see that both Iceman and John TN appear to have them installed.
as far as i am concerned, you can not go wrong with Rinehart. i dont have dyno numbers and race results to back me up, but i like em. they sound great and my bike runs great. check out www.mandmcycles.com for a price.
mustang seat, and you ask what does the wife think? let me tell you this little story.....before i bought the harley, i just wasnt sure, because i had ridden sport bikes for like 10 years. so a friend let me borrow his road king classic. it had the mustang seat on it. took the wife out on it, and she said: "yes, you can have a harley, but only if you get that same seat. no seat, no bike."
i love the seat. very very comfortable.
Thanks for the reply Iceman. I do wonder did you install them youself. If so how difficult was it. I am looking at an Aron ness big sucker, the rienhart pipes and a power commander. I had a friend tell me that some people have tuning problems with a true dual system. Dosn't sound like you had anything like that. I'm looking to do all the install myself and then take my 05 ultra to a local speed shop to have it tuned and dynoed.
des28h2,
actually, i did not install the stuff myself, i honestly just don't have the time. but it's all pretty straight forward. i am pretty mechanically inclined, thanks to the marine corps, but looking at the stuff, it looks pretty easy. the power commander is plug and play, so you really can not go wrong there, and the pipes should not be bad, just make sure you dont tighten anything all the way until it's all on there and lined up correctly. the air cleaner just can't be that hard, at least it does not look like it to me. good luck, and let us know how it goes!!!
