I was cleaning the inner tips of my CFR's tonight and I noticed that the right pipe wiggles. The left pipe stays in place.
I took off the bag to take a look but the two bolts holding the pipe to the saddlebag support are tight. It's the rubber inside that bracket that's allowing the pipe to wiggle by hand.
Are the rubber edges broken or cracked? These are supposed to stay in the mounts in order to absorb some vibration. Also, many owners have complained of broken bag support mounts. I am sure you've checked that already.
On my 01 UC, had an awful squeal. Turns out it was the right side rubber mount allowing a slight metal to metal rub. Hours of troubleshooting for a $2 part.
