Default stage 1 first mod from stock

Well I have been patiently waiting until I had the money to start mods on my new to me 2007 Road king police I just picked up 6 weeks ago.
the bike is bone stock except the cruise control the previous owner had installed and he pulled the baffles from the stock pipes.
I added ness floorboard extenders to move my boards forward 2"
So today I ordered my pipes and tuner, next week I order the air cleaner I want.
I just ordered hacker custom exhaust H.D. bagger Mayhem pipes, black on black with 2 silencers and a black receiver or collector.
I also ordered their Anger Management system tuner to dial in the bike after the pipes go on.
Pipes, silencers, and tuner out the door shipped to me are $957.00
Not to bad considering all I have seen in my 4 or 5 weeks or researching and reading.
heres a pic.

It feels good to finally get started I dont have an income to speak of I buy and sell stuff, I was disabled a few years back and I have found that I can work some buying and selling since it isnt too much on my back and it is fun.
I used to be able to just buy whatever I wanted when I was working but now I have to plan and budget and be very careful if I want to make it happen.
Anyway let the mods begin.
Next week I am ordering the S&S single bore tuned induction air cleaner t go with my pipes and stage one is complete.
We are leaving for Laconia bike week next month so I wont be buying any parts then, as I am paying for the trip, so any other mods have to wait until after June when I get back.
I need two tires, a battery and a manual before I do any other mods.
then I can start looking at putting the cash together for bars, bags and rear fender kit, cut and rake front end and add a 26" wheel, etc..
So for now at least I was able to start with the pipes and tuner, it is going to be a long road but there is no rush, the bike is running excellent right now so I can handle riding it like this for a few months while I save fr the next thing.
I refuse to use credit or our income for bike mods it will all have to come from my profits from buying and selling, or it will have to wait, that way everyone is happy and I dont go into debt over bike parts, lol.
Anyway very excited I cant wait for them to arrive and install them so I can tune the bike and hear/feel the difference.

Me too, I am told it sounds great, very deep tone and with the silencers you can adjust it so if it is too loud, you can dampen it.
On their site they say,
"Our quiet option tuned inserts are approx 96-97 decibels, our standard H-P tuned inserts are approx 103 decibels, (stock pipes are 80, and open straight pipes are in the low 120s)."

I think 97 db compared to stock would be just right, I wish I knew what my rinehardt headers were so I knew more about what to expect, but ill install them, and listen, add a silencer and listen and go from there.

It is hard to tell from a video how pipes sound so I just have to wait an see, I will definitely post my findings after I install them and tune the bike.
I know a few others have been wondering about these pipes and their tone/performance so I am the guinea pig I guess.

I love the look, the guys attitude in his written statements on the site and the dyno's I see for what I am looking for torque and hp in the rpm range I drive, 2k to 4k tops, maybe an occasional 4200 but it is rare.

I cruise not race and really need the low end torque when my bags are full and my wife is on the back an we are on a hill passing or taking off on a steep incline from a stop, so I am hoping these are the ticket.

Ive had the Rinehardt true dual headers, the vance and hines, a kerker header, etc.. so it was time for a change and something I havent seen before.

Together with the air cleaner I am adding the look is fantastic, I just hope the performance matches, not to mention the price was less than most of my other options.
Ill post back as things progress, how quickly they ship, how easily they install and how their tuner works with the bike and their pipes, and lastly how they sound and what kind of seat of the pants performance they offer, stay tuned if you have been wondering about these Hacker custom exhaust systems.

Id never seen this company before. Exhaust looks cool like something from a show bike maybe not a functional as my tastes go for touring. usually a short pipe like that is going to be on the loud side and exhaust heat for your passenger may be a lot at low speeds or stop lights.

The tuner sounds like it is a fuel only tuner like a DFO or Fuel Pak.

Post the after pictures and how you like it and how it runs.

have fun at Laconia!

you can read all about the tuner and pipes and dynos etc.. on their site

www.hackercustomexhaust.com

Answers the questions you have and gives a lot of good info n how their tuner works.

They make a tru dual pipe that they tested against a lot of available big name systems to develop theirs to be better in performance in the range most people drive, not after 4500 rpms and wot
on their site click on harley davidsons and then scroll 3/4 of the way down after the bagger mayhem pipes are the duals and 2 into 1 set ups they make and then head pipes and slip ons too.

So far off to a rough start.
I called them last week and again yesterday to check stock and make sure when I ordered we would be good to go.
I called today just before I ordered to confirm, I was told the sales people came in an hour late today and are now at lunch but we have them in stock and as soon as they get back ill have them call you.

I waited 2 hours and then called back, got a lady on the phone telling me we dont have the collector in black in stock so that has to go out to powder coat.

It is Thursday so she says it will go out next Tuesday, and then get it back the following Tuesday, then 5 business days later I will get it, if they ship out the Tuesday it comes back but lets assume it goes out Weds, it is still in time for my trip, but damn, after telling me in emails and on the phone two days in a row it is in stock, as soon as I place an order it is not, so a while later I find out none of it is in stock, it all has to be sent out to be finished, it is in stock but not finished!

Ok, no big deal as long as it gets to me in time for my trip.
I get home after riding all day and find an email, had a problem with my card, the total was not 957, it was 1021, apparently even though I used their checkout, paid with my card, got a receipt for the 957, it doesnt include shipping and it never added shipping, ugh.
So ok, now I have to go to the bank in the morning and make sure I have enough in there which I will, so I email them back and say look your not even sending them out for a week, ill just pay tomorrow, now they are saying well we have several orders needing to go out so you have to do this now basically or we are going to sell to someone else.
Damnit now im getting pissed, wtf just wait til the morning, you told me it was in stock and it wasnt, then you gave me a total that was wrong, now you dont want to wait 12 hours for me to send you the new total.
If they had called back at 1 pm lie I was promised, and then ran my card then like I was told they did we could have taken care of it while the bank was open today, instead they wait until 6pm to run the card and then tell me they have a problem.

Anyway off to a rough start, I just hope tomorrow I can make the payment confirm it and go back to waiting for it to arrive like I thought I was earlier today.

I am a stickler for getting **** right, thats why I was on the phone with them last week a few emails, etc.. to cover everything I could think of, extra fee's unexpected delays, etc.. luckily I ordered a month before I need them so they can just abut mess up everything and still get them to me in time, so no problem as long as it goes smoothly from here on it, we will see, stay tuned.
Not very impressed so far.
