2009 Road King original battery
Thought I felt it hesitate on start up
Bought deka and got it on the bench
Bikes still starting strong with original batt
How long can I keep the deka o. The bench and not affect its life?
Should I charge new battery
Should I carry it in my bags?
Should I just cha ge it out and be done with it
Hate to get rid of working battery...
What would you do
Hap
While you are under the seat put a little die electric grease on your ECM connector pins and the connector behind the air cleaner, Bum *** Egypt is a bad place to be sittin by the road in limp mode
Went to meet a friend for lunch today and he called and said that he was going ot be a few minutes late.
He rode and washed his 2010 Ultra yesterday evening and this morning it wouldn't start.
Over three full years on his battery (with battery tender connected most of the time)and this was the first time recently that the battery tender was not connected, so the weakened battery couldn't do the job.
I'll confess that I'm guilty of changing the battteries on our bikes after two full years, BUT I then put the old batteries in the bikes that we rarely ride, just in case I do want to take them out.
I also replace our car/truck batteries after four full years of service.
I can't see risking being stranded somewhere simply in order to get another year or so of service out of $100 battery.
I know I'm, a dork...I will put the New Battery in this week...I had a reply on putting Di-Electric grease on connectors pins?
Can you explain that process a bit more...
What is this grease where do I get it?
Jut coat the male or female pins and replug? Is this a common practice on all Harleys or just 2009 Road Kings?
