I buy take off stock windscreens from the guys who buy the recurves.
at 6' 2" I use various height windscreens cut to desired height- the bottom edge is easily cut witha roto-zip, and the cut edge is hidden.
as I swap seats-( ultra, SG and solo) and thus height, I swap windscreen to match.
the top edge "appears" to intersect to road about 40' in front of the bike.
the reason I stay with a stock style, aside from cost...these things cost me about $35 each...is that with a straight windscreen I can tuck into it in crap weather, I can also see through it- undistorted...and at night 'cause it's untinted.
and the Lexan H-D uses is pretty tough- I've seen it take an apple sized rock at 60 MPH...boink
there are plenty of expensive ways to go.
this works for me...

I have the LRS 9" medium tint recurve on my Ultra. I'm 5' 11" and it works and looks great. The one I have now is acrylic but my next one will be polycarbonate. The polycarbonate was not available when I bought my first one. LRS makes a good product and has outstanding customer service. Price was reasonable as well. I will buy from them again.
i have a 5 inch national cycle "wave" on my ultra. i wish i went with the 71/2 inch instead. ... although, the 71/2 inch only comes in medium tint, and not dark like the 5 inch.

I am also 5'11" and had a LRS 9" recurve (light tint) and I really liked the looks of it...but I decided that it's better to look over the shield rather than through it and the 9" was just too tall. I also noticed the the acrylic shield was cracking from a mounting bolt (3 weeks old). Figuring I had nothing to lose and reading all the threads on cutting them down, I gave it a shot; and turned it into junk that I tossed away as it fractured almost immediately trying to drill through it. I won't be buying another acrylic shield from anyone.
I put on a stock 5" streetglide take off from a buddy until I decide what to buy this time around.
My next shield will likely be a 6 or 7" polycarbonate or lexan shield with the recurve and light tint.
The Fast Aire Aero recurved windshield is made from hi grade polycarbonate. hard coated on both sides & comes with a 1 year warranty against cracking & the hard coat coming off.
