The weight of the bike does not shift (other than a minor amount by fluids sloshing forward). The weight of the bike does not change nor does it shift. What you're probably referring to is breaking force and torque effects from braking.

I had the dealer put heavy weight oil in my front forks and that cleared up the issue for me. Now if I hit a hard stop with mostly the front brake I can still get some dive but nothing significant.

No i am referring to the weight of the bike and rider shifting onto the front wheel when braking

this is motion 101.

and when accelerating the weight bias shifts toward the rear

this has little to do with which brake is used to slow the vehicle- it is the fact that the vehicle is slowing...

I hope that you mis-understood my original post.

otherwise get thee to a rider course asap.

Ricor Intiminators and problem solved. If you follow Fabrik8tor's advice you could even improve them.

I put mixture of 60% SE/40% stock in my 09 SG. Dang near eliminated the terrible brake dive of the stock setup. Although I am not an aggressive rider, this was a very big improvement.

Short of modifying with Progressive or ricor Intiminators i have had good luck with new fluids every 20000 miles. Cheap and easy to do also.

I recently changed my fork oil from stock oil to se heavy wt #99881-87. this is not the super heavy racing fork oil (which is not recommended). It made a huge difference on my 99 fxdwg. no more nose dive. try it out before you spend any money, you'll be surprised. good luck.

Ditto, monotubes for brake diving -- they made a huge difference for me

(now I am looking for an overall better front shock system than monotubes but they sure helped in the dive department)
