Default saddlebag locks

Guys,
Is there an aftermarket company that makes saddlebags locks that secures the saddlebags to the bike better than the "cheap looking" ones the factory installed? I have heard stories of saddlebags falling off or getting stolen and living near DC I dont want to come out one day and find this.....

Yes they're all kinds. Recommend you do a search on some of the Supporting Vendors sites.

do a search for "crown bolt" and you will find one of my posts with home depot part numbers.
gives you a wing bolt inside the bag, so off in a few deliberate turns.

$10 and done, that's what I have done - on multiple bikes over the years
I also replace the 1/4" hex bolt on the forward mount

OR tie a piece of shoelace between the rings on the stock pins to keep them at tension.

$0

You should always lock your saddlebags when parking...or even running down the road... easy visual is that the tab on the lock will be towards the front when locked

I bought a set that takes a 'security' allen bit. $20 delivered. This way if I forget to lock the outside lock someone can't just spin off the wing nut or regular nut & steal my bags. They are called Bagger STD's.

I've read many good things about this system:

And they are a forum sponsor.

1.25" or 1.5" 5/16 Security Torx screws, and 5/16 u clip nut.

I got a bag of each for < cost of the Brukus (not knocking their product). Just going cheap! Hooked up my brother and another buddy for free.

Installed them last night on Brother's bike - took <5 min. I'd get the 1.25" vs 1.5" as there is a bit extra length out the back you don't need. Might throw a nylock on the end since it looks like it would fit!
