Default Good Vibrations?

So I have a friend with a 2013 SG. I know, always a friend, never your own bike...... anyway... the bike has a strange vibration at cruising rpms. 2200 to about 2500. Mainly you feel it in your feet and butt. Gear doent matter, but as soon as you pull on the clutch it goes away. It's a lot worse then any bikebin our group. Enough that it's fatiguing. My thought was a bad motor mount. The dealer conjectured steering head bearings or loose compensator nut. Any thoughts? Possible solutions? Bike has a proven stage 1. Only difference is super traps instead of v&h or Rineharts

I was thinking wheel out of balance, but probably not if it goes away when the clutch is pulled in.

Check the torque of the exhaust bolt where the exhaust crosses under the bike. That is a very common problem.

Great as a song... bad on a bike. Sounds like a trip to the dealer...warranty issue, could be a number of things.

I would get that checked out ASAP... It could be a serious issue that hopefully doesn't put your safety into an issue... Your safety is #1 priority

Checked the cross-under pipe. Hell, even loosened and repositioned and nothing. Different mufflers, stock mufflers... belt deflection was within specs. Running out of ideas. Any good way to check motor mounts?

Really? First I ever heard of that. So if it's torqued too tight it causes vibration? This has got my interest since I changed my stock pipes to V&H Dresser Duals over the winter, and I've noticed a vibration during deceleration that wasn't there last season when I put it away. Wonder what the correct torque setting is for that mount?

Check the rear shocks, loose bolts will cause that, also lowering blocks can cause it as well.

It's under warranty? Get it to a dealer and let us know what they find.

I had a vibration issue like this recently after my bike was in for service. Thought it was a motor mount and went back to dealer who said it was not motor mount and it seemed "normal". I know my bike and it was not "normal".

After further examination, I noticed that the left rubber muffler hangar bushing was making extra contact. The muffler needed to be pounded on another 1/4". It seemed to work.
