I always chuckle a little when folks start talking about how fast their harley is. The thing is, harley has the whole "fun riding a slow bike fast" thing down so good it is pretty easy to overwhelm the rest of the bike with extra power. But, I do like some extra passing power. My '09 has a dyno sheet with 99hp/109tq. It could use MORE!

My question here is not bragging rights, but how fast is fast when upgrading you bike.
..... any others out there, feel their bike is fast enough or too fast?
Nice job being able to say that you did some of the work yourself. New upgrades take time to get use to. In a month your going to less suprised at your increased performance and riding with more comfort and control.

The first week after I added a turbo to my hayabusa I thought it should be illegal to ride a machine like this on city streets. 85mph in first gear and that is just on the short onramp to the interstate. A month later I was riding it as easily as I do when I jump on the comfy Road King.

I cant wait for my parts to arrive.
when I first picked up my 103 I thought, wow what a difference from my stock 88, holy crap, 2k miles later it feels natural and same as it ever was, you do get used to it, but it is still great to take a bike, add a few parts and ride it and think , wow a rebirth!!

I have seen dynos on similar bikes from stock and with the parts I ordered and I am seeing 12 to 25 hp and torque increases and in my rpm range of 2500 to 4500, the sweet spot for my type of riding.

I cant wait to actually install the parts and tune the bike and do a road test, seat of the pants dyno to see the difference.

these bikes are heavy and when you all of a sudden have gains that you can actually feel and see the obvious difference it is exciting.

So many upgrades that leave you feeling like the same bike but a little better looking whereas the right additions can really make a big difference without changing the look very much at all.
The parts I ordered promise to give gains as well as change the look for the bike from stock to a custom with a few bolt on parts that are not custom, just very cool bolt on parts that I havent seen on many other bikes.

I have seen a couple bikes with the air mod I ordered but none with the exhaust so for me it is perfect, a change in looks as well as sound and most importantly power and torque.
I spent 1500 total on air, pipes, and a tuner, to me if I can gain 12 to 15 ft lbs of torque in my rpm curve it will be money well spent.

the 103 already has plenty of get up and go but with a passenger, full bags, running up a hill from a stop blending into 55 mph traffic and having to pass, the gains will be much appreciated and the tune hopefully will end the pinging once I hit the now dead spots around 3200 rpms in most any gear.

It is all about torque unless you race and run your bike over 4500 rpms and wot in a 1/4, which I never do, I like to cruise with authority, not race, I want to be heard, and able to pass and something fun to talk about with other riders who see the set up and ask questions, thats just my style and for me this stage 1 is the best stage 1 I have ever done, well in theory, lets wait until the parts are on the bike before I make any claims, I am confident of the gains I will have after much reading, and talking to people I trust and listening to others with the same mods and similar bikes.
but until I ride it in a week or so with the new parts I can only suggest what I expect.

As for what is too much, I am currently at 101HP and 107TQ. Just makes me want a little more! If I could afford it (and my fairy godmother delivers ) my next move would be an S&S 124" with 585 cam and high 120s HP/TQ. I reckon I would call it a day then, assuming I don't find myself being blown off the back of the thing.....
