Default Would you ever?

Take your bike to a "wand" style car wash? I have heard people say to never do it but others I know go all the time. The reason for asking is that I don't have a garage to park the bike in and its pretty dusty around here. It takes me about an hour every three or four days to keep my bike clean. If I could go to the wand wash and give it a quick squirt every couple of says and then do the hard core detailing on the weekend it would be easier. Thoughts?

You just have to be careful. Stay away from wheel bearings and electronics and you should be fine.
It's not the water, it's the pressure of the water from getting too close that gets guys in trouble with the wands.

If constant dusting is a problem, how about trying a decent cover? The price could offset replacing doused parts that short out. Bikes are OK to get wet, but pressure washers can force moisture into places it normally wouldn't get in to.

I do it if I get caught in a rain storm or such to get the heavy stuff off but just the wheels and exhaust and such , like stated you have to watch where you spray , and they really don't do that good of job and then you will have to dry it anyway , how about a car duster

I would not pressure wash my bike at all. I say a cover is in need for your problem.

I'm thinking, would you really let the bikini babes at an "event" at your local dealer wash your scooter - pretty much the same thing?
