I do it if I am in a hurry or out on the road. Just don't hold it too close and don't spray full pressure into any of the electrical stuff (gauges, voltage regulator, etc), or anywhere near the wheel bearings (don't ask me how I know that) and you will be fine.

I use a pressure washer all the time too and never had a problem. I put zipwax in the soap bottle, spray it on then blast it off. Minkoil the seat, wax the tank and fenders and spray rim cleaner on the wheels and rinse, all done in 1/2 hr.

Maybe if I was on a road trip away from home. Only lightly spraying her down, and not at the wheel, the swing arm, or steering head bearing areas.

To much to avoid for your money...I prefer to light spray with garden hose then hand wash with hot water and mitt...I can check it over while washing. Then rinse and dry. Its black so it will be only clean for a few minutes.

Fortunately I can wash my bike in my own driveway. But if I had to use a car wash I think I would use the low pressure setting around the sensitive areas mentioned above.

And I would not use a leaf blower...Debris from the surrounding area, and any that might already be in the blower is NOT filtered out. Unless you want to sand blast the finish off your ride, I would definately get something that will blow high-speed, filtered, dry air. More, the Blasters will blow slightly heated air, so it dries much faster. i think I paid around $120 (not for hand held) on ebay, or something like that, several years ago -- love it!

The "best looking girls" don't have to stand out in the hot sun scrubbing and washing bikes. They stand in the shade popping open beer cans for $50+ an hour in tips, Lol

Good point. I've seen the ladies drop wash sponges on the ground, pick them with grit and immediately wipe painted parts. The owner is usually admiring the lovies with a quarter chubby in his pants and doesn't even notice.
