Default Do you use your heel shifter...

...to save the wear on the top of your boot, or have you removed it?

I got used to using them many years ago and still prefer it over up shifting with my toe. It has nothing to do with saving wear on my boots though. I know many others who don't like them.

I removed it last summer and replaced it with a decorative cap from the harley store. Gives me more room for my foot on the floorboard.

I removed it for ease to clean. Then after 3000 miles I put it back on. I will never do without it.

Removed No issues. I move it all the way out and make and aluimn spacer on the inside. Guess it boils down to what you are used to. Never had them on older bikes Just personal choice really.

Harley Davidson transmissions were not designed to be eased into gear or tickled into a shift.

They Were designed to be stomped into submission.
