Default Trickle charge

Hey all, I need hlep with something and I hope my description makes sense.

I have a 2012 SG. Connected to the battery is the trickle charge cord.
The trickle charge cord is connected by means of a cable tie, to slim foam looking wire casing.

This slim foam looking wire casing come from near the batter and extends down to the right side pipe. Does this wire get connected to anything?

Yesterday, I had to change the trickle charge cord and I noticed that the slim foam looking wire casing wasn't attached to anything. Seems weird to just have it sitting there.

If my description doesn't make sense, I'll attach a picture when i get home tonight.

Thank you!

Does this help? Just hook this up to it. Have one for each bike. Helps keep the battery changed and longer life

Thanks man, I was hoping to get that answer.

The pig tail, trickle charge that came with the bike hit the pipe and melted. Yesterday, I connected a pig tail trickle charge wire from my Battery Tender Jr. but noticed the "vent hose" and was wondering if something was done wrong. Thanks again for the info.
