Default Cd unit head cleaner

Anyone know of a good quality one for the oem deck? Figure after 6 years it can use some sort of cleaning.

I'm curious as well. Mine won't play CD's w/even minor scratches. Maybe a good cleaning would fix this or maybe the HK unit is very picky about scratches.

I have a buddy who works on electronics and he says only way to get them really clean is to pull apart and clean the lasers with the correct type of cleaner using cotton swabs/ q tips ,,, I could never fig out how putting a disk in would actually clean anything so that's how I get my cd ,,cassette tape or vcr heads cleaned,,,drink a beer and watch him do his magic LOL!!!!

Give Iron Cross Audio a call and ask, they are the pros.

Can't help, I have never used the CD on my 09 or 12 Ultra, always used a IPOD or FM. I would stop by a car audio install shop and ask them.

Don't you have a lens cleaner for your home stereo/disc/bluray cleaner? Scroggdawg gave the best answer (regarding cleaning solution and Q tips) but not always necessary unless a typical lens cleaner does not do the job. If you go that route ya may be able to find longer wooden stick Q tips at a place like Radio Shack.

my buddy does use the long q tip type swabs,,,must be specific for cleaning electronics ,,,not sure if you could get to the laser or not without takeing it apart but might be able to,,, worst case scenario if after cleaning if it still isn't right is the laser sometimes needs adjusted,, I have burnt cds and some decks are picky about what brand cd you use also,,must be the reflective material differences ,,hope ya get it figured out

As owner of a car audio shop for 19 years, don't waste your money. CD cleaners are a scam as well as FM boosters.
