Take the course. I promise you will learn something.

When I took it there was a couple of patch wearing bad fellows that were taking it because of tickets. Popped off smart through the whole class room portion of the class.
Both busted their *** during the riding portion.

Best money I have spent in a long time

My wife and I both took the MSF Course about two years ago; never been on a bike before. We both paid I believe $250.00 a piece and got our Motorcycle license that following Tuesday. My friend paid the money, took the course, but unfortunately they didn't pass him... He was pretty pissed, but immediately started practicing and got his license shortly after. Best money spent in a very long time. Take the local MSF course!

Times have changed alot since my m/c test in 1978. Like others from this era (mid-late 70's), m/c endorsement was two parts...(1) written test & (2) behind the bars. My #2 test consisted of the Deputy Sheriff instructing me to circle the parking lot twice while using correct signals, panic stop and then run around the block & back (didn't watch/escort). When I made it back alive...he said I passed.

If you have the ca$h & time, take a beginner MSF course. If not, get some cones and replicate the route/exercises in a parking lot so you can practice/practice/practice & be prepared for next run...good luck!

I took the test on my XR650R and passed the first round when I was 15. And the lady that judged me was pretty cool so I ask if I could do it all on my rear wheel. passed that time also. but I have had a motorcyle since age 4. good luck on round 2 just don't get in a hurry.

If you could do the rear wheel thing with your roadglide then it would be impressive.

Borrowed a mc for my test and clutch cable broke during the test. Made it through by careful clutchless shifting. Don't recommend it! Had to retake upon moving to the USA and was surprised how easy it was but then at least the clutch was working.

Since everyone is telling their stories: I got my MS mc endorsement in the early 80's. Went in to get license renewed, lady said, "you wanna motorcycle endorsement?" I said, "what's that?" She said, "you gotta have that to ride a motorcycle in Mississippi now, new law." I said, "yeah, duh". (actually, "duh" hadn't been invented yet, I just said yeah). So I paid the $5 extra and bitched about our tax-grabbing state for no telling how long...
