I got my Screamin' Eagle Pro Super tuner kit back in 2009. I went to update the software on my laptop by clicking check for updates and I am getting a message from the Super Tuner Update Client saying, "Unable to connect to the update server. Check your internet connection and try again". Does anyone know how to update this software and get past this error message.
I think your bike needs to be connected to the LapTop/Software and then do the
updates .Hopefully your computer is close enough to connect via a wireless connection.
I too get this same error message, but when I took the bike to Russel at Lonewolf he
had no issues with my Dongle(programmer/black box from SE)
Hope this helps a little.

Harley only supports the current version of the software. It will not do any updating to older versions. Nor will it connect to the site from your laptop. That's why you get the message. I believe the current software version part number ends in "-13". The solution is to buy the current software version. If your VCI is black in color, it will update to a newer version of the firmware but you will have everything connected and on for that to happen. If it is orange it's already set.

The only reason to get an update is to add calibrations for the current model year. If you have a 2010, you won't gain a thing by going to a 2011, 2012, or 2013 software version. The updates don't really change the software. They just add calibrations...and a few more bucks to HD's sales.

Wasn't aware of this I figured this was an ongoing process in which HD continued to analyze the old configurations, compare them to the new Screamin' eagle parts and downloads, and offered new maps according to new hardware and information collected by R+D especially since the fuel is constantly changing.
think when mine did upgrade it may have done 30-40 and my model may have used a cpl of them . ill just keep using my disk for now since the one program i used that did an upgrade seem to have all the same values even after an upgrade
