I couldn't tell much difference in riding position but I could in comfort. Put over 40,000 miles on mine. Finally got a tear in it along with the foam wore out. Broke down and bought a new one, taking the old one to Mean City Cycle in July to have the cover repaired and memory foam put in. Sundowner is the cheapest comfortable seat made. IMHO
I have the Sundowner Deep Bucket - I don't think it moved me in any direction, maybe slightly lower, but not much. It is a great seat. I just got it and quickly put over 2000 miles on it. I'm very happy with it.
I have a 2010 ultra, the stock seat put me way too far forward and the wife said it put her up too hi, got a sidekick and really like the position and the wife likes it but it isn't a long ride seat, the wife can only take about 300 miles a day and she's done. Just picked up a road king seat dirt cheap, it sits further back then the ultra and the passenger seat isn't a foot higher then me, haven't tried it on a long trip yet but seems to be the hot ticket
I have had 2 on 2 sperate bikes and love it. They both moved me down, and back.
Put one on my 07, and again on my 12.
Bought the badlander for looks, but the Sundowner is very comfy, and got me off the tank. I am long limbed and they both (Sundowners) worked well.
I have a Sundowner Deep Bucket seat on my 2012 FLHTC. It moved me forward so I feel like I'm almost riding on the gas tank, but it is very comfortable. Had front of seat pan narrowed by MCC to give me more bend in the knees while flat footed.
