Default Front Engine Mount

I'm a Softail guy but a buddy of mine has a 98 Road King. His front motor mount is toast. What aftermarket motor mounts are you guys putting in your bikes?

Your buddy might want to look into glide pro in Southern California
They make awesome mounts from what I hear

I bought the Glide-Pro because it is more or less "oil-proof". I have never been able to change the filter without having at least some oil run onto the mount. Perhaps I have a "dead" butt, but I feel no more vibration with the Glide Pro than with the factory mount.

The installation instructions are quite detailed (and there is a video on the Glide pro web site) about getting the mount properly positioned. The center bolt should easily slide up and down when properly aligned and that seems to be the key to minimizing vibration. I am very happy with mine, seems to be well made out of good stuff. The mount is available separately. It appears that the swing arm pivot shaft bushings and shaft are not available without the engine mount. If he thinks he might like to do the bushings later, he may as well get the whole kit at once rather than be stuck with a second engine mount.

I just fitted the glide pro about 500 miles ago and it is great, it has reduced vibration.

I went with a buell type rubber mount myself. Don't like vibration at all, which is a big part of the reason I got a Road King. The replacement types of the harder rubber/plastics all seem to have more vibration than the rubber buell type.

Found it on ebay, for a fairly nominal price.

on my 07 SG I tried the Velva-ride and the Glide Pro......... get a Glide Pro. Make sure to put the thing in correctly to where you can move the bolt up and down after the weight of the engine is on the mount.. then tighten them all up.

The latest factory one is fine, so don't go out of your way to get an aftermarket one.

Glide-Pro and Sta-Bo front motor mounts are of the same basic design and construction with a "floating" core, both will allow the engine to move as it should and absorb vibration without translating it to the chassis. They are not like any other mounts available, and they won't need replaced for a very long time if ever.

I installed the glide pro on my 08 SG. At idle it was perfect but as I start to motor up between 1800 and 2100 my feet feel like they are on one of those old electric football games. huge buzz. I called Glide pro and was told to change torque to 6 FT lbs. Got over 500 miles on it still no change.Going back to stock. Frustrating
