Default Mixing Oil

Switched from Syn 3 to Mobile 1 20-50 V-Twin. Still have 2 quarts of Syn 3. Do ya'll think there would be any problem mixing the Syn 3 in with the Mobil 1 to use it up or just give it away. Thanks.

Someone who has done it will probably chime in, BUT, it is never good practice due to addatives each use in their own blends.

No problem at all. It's been done countless times and you never even knew it. When you change your oil, if you don't have a scavenger, you are leaving some oil in your engine. In this day and time, oils all play well together. Believe it or not, 2 different brands of oil may very well contain the exact same stuff. Don't sweat it, really...

I would never do it in a car or motorcycle. Lawn Mower, sure. But that's my opinion for what it's worth.

On another sit that deals with oil, they have guys that mix up their own concoctions of different brand and weight oils all the time. The lab they have the oil tested at ,usually says there's nothing wrong with it. Current oils made today will mix even if it's regular oil and synthetic oil. How do you think they get semi- synthetic blends?.,,

After you have been here for a while you will learn that you will seldom, if ever, be able to draw a clear consensus from the answers that are posted. Some people don't read the question well. Some don't read their answers well. Some don't have enough experience to be commenting. And some have the experience and offer valid comments. The problems is knowing who is who.
So, ask you questions but be prepared to get lots of conflicting opinions.
