About a yr or so ago late at night on my way home from work hit a car crossmember on a dark section of hwy on my softail....got luck that time. Then another time a managed to dodge some round fence post laying iin the roadway of a hwy interchange curve....now that was scary..

A hummingbird hit me in the helmet at 70+mph.
The guts sprayed through the vents in the front of my helmet.
I thought I had been shot.
Pulled over a started 'taking stock', and realized what had happened after I couldn't find any new blood.
I laid in the grass for 10 minutes to get my heart rate under control.

Man, road kill is so much more personal when on two wheels! I have gone straight through a couple of fresh gut piles rather than take a chance on sliding on them.
I've always got the eyes out for gators down here, you bet I'll never cross that 415 bridge the same way again! Too bad cause its a nice view either way.
