My dad has a 96 fat boy and a 02 ultra classic and has grown to hate the way his ultra feels. He says he feels like he sits on top of the gas tank. I've only Riden his bike once or twice but it wasnt anytime recently. Does anyone have any advice on a seat for more room(tall boy style) on the older framed bikes?
Im only 5'9" but I have very big thighs and the tank rides the inside of my legs sometimes. Only when I am using my mustang seat! I usually ride with my sundowner on my 07 street glide. Once my sundowner was broke in it moved me back a little bit and lower to the ground.
Contact mean city cycles and tell them your issues. They will rework the start for the best fit and comfort. Over used them twice with great results as have a lot of people on this forum.
I Felt that way on my 2008 flhrc I sent it to Mean CITY Cycle and had them Modify it for me . I had them lower and narrow it several inches and had memory foam added for comfort .
Looks great very comfy I ride 500+ mile days in comfort .
This was SUPER TRIFTY way cheaper than a custom seat .
Cost was just under $150 including shipping both ways .
Call Allen and tell them your problem and they will modify to fit you .
another seat you can try is an ultimate...another mc seat company. i have one on my 06 yamaha and it rides pretty good. sets you down into the bike pretty well. http://ultimateseats.ca/harley_2_pc_97-07FLHTFLTR.html. i have a mustang on my ultra right now, waiting for a day long.
