I've spent thousands there. I keep a running list of stuff I want/need in Excel then drop and order when they do their free shipping on $250 order specials. They happen about 4 times a year.
Id like it if their website was easier to navigate, especially when adding items to your cart, but it works. Lake Shore has way more HD and Drag part numbers in their database than any of the other discount HD dealers. Ive tried them all (Chicago, Surdyke, Zanotti) and Lake Shore has them all beat. I dont even bother with other dealers anymore.
I found a few old threads of 2010 era in which they didn't have a good reputation. It seems that they have a been better. Something about restocking fee's and taking a long time to ship bypassing the timeframe to return an item for some reason or another... The last problem thread was about ordering a bunch of parts and some items were on backorder.
Spent $300 last week, placed another order today for $6-- and qualified for the free S&H!
I use their great prices as a tool. I have been able to get my local dealer to price match them. I do have to pay taxes but I do not pay shipping. I like the idea of dealing locally when possible.

There's always someone out there that gets their panties in a wad because their order didn't arrive immediately and they were headed out on some big road trip.
I don't believe anything has changed in particular at LSHD. Bottom line is you need to allow time for your order to ship. Sometimes they do not have the item you order from them in stock at LSHD and LSHD has to order from H-D. It can sometimes take time. If you need it yesterday go to your local dealer (but call ahead because they might not have the item either).
Ordered the newer adjustable chrome luggage rack from lshd last week. P/N 50300044. Very simple navigation and the part shipped in two days and I had it in a week. Best of all it was 319.00 instead of 399.00 locally. I didn't catch the free shipping they run sometimes but only 12.99. Not bad. This rack is a work of art and functional as well. Heavy chrome plating. Can't knock Harley quality. Anyway the plug is for lake shore. Easy to use site and great prices.
Can you post some pics of the rack on your bike. I have been looking at getting one for mine. They have a lot better weight rating than others I have looked at. I am not interested in a tour pac and this looks like it will work for my needs. I hear they look huge on the bike.
