05 ultra currently with V+H twin slash slip ons (stock head pipes), Bug Sucker A/C (with stock cover), and stage 1 tune....
I will be installing the Dragos true duals and CFR slip ons with NO other engine mods...
The question is... do I need to get a tuner and remap or will the stage 1 tune suffice...
I use the bike every day commuting and weekend touring (put 3500 miles on her in 2 months).. not interested in dyno numbers and maxing hp... just an overall good fuel mileage/performer...
Any assistance/advice is appreciated
Thanks
Put an inexpensive tuner like the PC5 in it with a canned map and you'll have what your asking for. I got mine for $299 from FM and they loaded a map on it before they shipped it. It ran great and the plug color was right where it should be. I should add that I had to change the timing tables to stop my motor from pinging but that's the reason i put the PC on it to begin with.
Thanks for the input... I will budget in the tuner ... besides, if I change anything else ie, cams, big bore... etc... hmmm possibly the TTS... seems to be a lot of support and info here on it...
The current setup is the way it was when I bought it... fell into a pretty good deal... an 05 ultra classic (late 04 production so no valve seal issue), with only 4200 miles on it!
bought it mid April and it now has just under 8000 miles on it...
may just do the exhaust and leave it at that.. Im happy with everything but the vance hines "cackle"... going for the deep tone
helo . when did yours ping .mine is doing it when i trottle up through the gears .it only does it once each time .it sounds like it comes from the front of the motor .only one click .and only does it when the motor is warmed up .im just wondering . i have power duals v+ h high outputs with stag 1 air filter and download
