That's a great idea, sort of like having your cake and eating it too. So in order to use the king backrest on a chopped pack you have to use a king tour packlid on the chopped pack? Is that correct? Will Harley sell me a chopped pack with the king lid? If not how much does the king lid cost?
Is the king tour pack offered with the small backrest (like the chopped).
I'm not totally positive but think the King and Chopped lids are different but my understanding that you can put on on the other. Look at ebay, lids are sold all the time. Also looks like you guys could work out trades for lids...

The lids are Exactly the same - with the exception of the back rest - King has the little arm rest, Chopped come with the small type.... other than that the lids are exacty the same... I already had my rack plus the expensive Corbin back rest - so I swap them out...
Answer to the question - can the King come with the small back rest - As far as I have ever seen, it only comes with the wrap around - the small back rest has totaly different mount holes...
The King lid will come pre-drilled with three holes on each forward side of the lid to mount the armrest/backrest; the holes will be exposed if the chopped tp backrest is used; of course holes can be filled.

Backrest/Armrest. yes they are different, that is very obvious. I was refering to the mounting of the rest. So as you say they are exactly the same with totally different mount holes...

Got it - you are right - I have had people tell me that the king lid would Not fit on the chopped pac - they were wrong - you are right....
So it sounds like you don't really need to swap the lids in order too fit the king backrest on the chopped pack. All that's needed is too drilling extra holes in order too mount the armrest.

Hollywood - you are correct - however, My orig bike was a FLTCI Smoky Gold/Black on the very top of the lid was Black W/color matching pin striping... And on my King pac was my rack - Along with the Corbin back rest - it was a lot nicer looking than the stock lid on my chopped pac from HD when ordered - so swapping out the lids made perfect sense to me.. If a person already has the King pack and the color combo matches well - then the swap is good - if not then all a person has to do is take the time and make sure they drill the extra holes in the right spot the first time - I like doing the swap - If I ever want to have the small back rest - I have it - if the extra holes are drilled - then your stuck .... Just another way of looking at something
That is VERY NICE, I need that BaDDDDDDDD. Did you get through a local dealer or some where else? I have been looking around for one to match a black pearl bike. You done real good that looks good
