after bitching for 2 months about the noise in my front motor and harley said it was normal , after going on a 200 mile ride today i decided to take the front rocker cover off .where the lifters are, 2 bolts where half the torque the other 2 did not even read on the torque wrench .so i retorqued all the bolts .put it back together and the noise was completely gone .i went 20 miles .no noise .love my bike .and yes i got sun burn today in north east ohio .it was 89 to 92 degrees and loved it ,
it took about 45 minates to do .i heard it all the time , it was not real loud , but i notice it ,they didnt , im not upset with them .just glad its not there ,tomorrow we are going to geneva on the lake ,its about 65 miles each way , so i will know for sure if its gone ,
Hey I got sunburn in NE Ohio today too! Was the dealer Bike Town? Alot of my buddies are going to Thunder over in Sharon. I haven't had any problems with Bike Town yet. Bought my bike there and purchased ESP. Have had several things done that were covered.

I got sunburned today in Ohio also LOL, some friends and I rode to a graduation party, then rode to Dragway 42 in West Salem to watch the diesel truck races
After the races we went out for dinner, only about an 80 mile ride but lots of fun!!!!
rear head had no noise in it ,and i got my bike at bike town and have no problem with them ,they been real good to me .i have had 2 appointments to take it ,but i cancel both of them , they still got to replace the radio ,everytime it gets wet , it goes out for about 3 hours ,
Just so we're all clear, it was the bolts under the cover that did the trick, not the cover bolts themselves... correct?
Don't want folks getting the wrong idea.
lol yes the 2 bolts on the right side where still tight ,the two on the left did not read on the torque wrench ,plus the 2 little ones in the center took about 2 turns to tight them and the 4 corner ones took about a turn and a half ,its seems quite now , but im leaving in ten minutes for geneva on the lake a 65 mile trip one way , then i will see if the noise is still there.
