I'm debating RJS vs Captain Itch heat deflectors. I like how RJS looks, but it seems like Captain Itch will work better. Is there anyone out there who has experience with both, and thoughts?
Also, the RJS website doesn't have a pic of a SG with their heat deflectors. If you have a SG and are using RJS heat deflectors, can you please shoot a pic and post?...thanks!
Dont have a pic, but use the plain black RJS on an 11 SG. My drivetrain and exahust are 100% stock. They look and work perfectly, never have a heat issue, nor do my kids or Mrs complain of their feet ever getting hot.

I'm thinking the same thing. The RJS looks nicer on a Street Glide but I think the crotch cooler would work better being leather. Also to think about is there going to be wear marks on the cc. Decisions decisions?
I just installed the RJS product on my '12 RKC. They look awesome and perform really well. It was the styling that tilted the scales toward RJS. Capt Itch seems like a great product too, so you can't go wrong.
A far as durability to intense heat goes, I think aluminum will outlast leather, but that could take forever. Just pick the ones that look best to you.

I have RJS and they look good and work as promised. Please explain why should leather work better than other materials.

Well just thinking that leather would be the better insulater than alloy or plastic. But all things being equal I like the look of the RJS on a Street Glide, it just fits imo.
