Yeah, that was how I felt when I put it on my Dyna. Suddenly all the people I ride with were miles back and when we stopped they commented that I was insane for riding so fast. I referenced the Tru Track and they just scratched their heads and all went and bought one.
Riding my bike home from purchase I knew immediately something was amiss in the alignment. Straight road side wind and slight undulating profile the bike was very squirrely. Upon getting back home to the twistied it was very disheartening to have the bike overcome my input control. I found this site looking for a solution after checking all mounts and bushings and read the linked thread. Progressive tour-link goes on all problems gone.
Am I correct in assuming the moco now has a link incorporated in their new touring bikes?
The rear engine stabilizing approach that Progressive takes is not to my liking. That's why I have a True-Track. Not to mention that the True-Track folks are fantastic folks to work with.
Could you elaborate on what was not to your liking?
My assessment was that the ptl distributed the attachment (and thus the forces) through the two strongest components available and seemed to be the least cluttered way to solve the alignment issue. I'm sure both perform well and will result in better handling characteristics.
I neglected to mention the tt mount that completely covers the pan seemed to me to limit air-flow over the pan and also the link mount under the cross member reduces clearance and makes use of a floor jack a little more difficult.
One item of both concerned me enough that I sourced new hi test bolts to be sure they were usa grade 8 or better to avoid stress bending. I also recall that I installed ss washers (greased) between the pan and pan bracket to make sure the aluminum was not bearing against aluminum without a solid flat base that would resist wearing, and thereby loosening.
I approach mods to my bike with an engineers eye and only for my purposes but always remain interested in others opinions and reasons for their choices.
I also noted the op's terms were sliced and diced Progressive Tour Link vs True-Track.

just buy a 2009 and up and be done with this. I have never had any issues myself either but once i do I will say so long to my 2006 hello 2009 or newer and be done with it. Beet of luck to all with the wobble.
My buddies have a 07 RK & a 12 SG. They both have the wooble in sweeping curves at high speeds. They both can be aggressive riders at times as it never happens at low speeds, 55-70 but mostly over 85-90+. We installed Tru Tracks over the winter on both bikes. So far, problem solved.
The funny thing is if you got the Progressive version that is not a True Track. True Track was the first company to make this type of a stabilizer and every fone else copied them. Their stuff costs a little more as I have been looking for one for my bike but am still undecided on which to get. I will probably get Tru Track as I have it on my Dyna and they are local so I can pick it up in person.
There are a few other companies that make these things now too. I think Alloy Art, and others. Another thing to look in to is the Stabo-Bo swing arm bushings.
I am yet to experience the high speed wobble, but I'd rather never have to. When I put one of these on i will report back after with my thoughts but judging from the difference it made on my Dyna I am sure it will be quite noticeable.
Yep...I though there was a product difference as what was being stated. I have the True Track installed on a 2002 FLHTPI and has help a lot. I've felt that rear end kick back at me prior to installing and it was the first thing placed on the bike after a lot of research. But at the time it was kinda of a new 'thing' being brought to peeps attention and at the same time there wasn't as many items being offered to combat this as now.
It fits perfect with no interference below the trans-case and bolts to the entire tyranny case solid to final link mount. Does not interfere or obstructs anything once installed under the bike...its flush with the tyranny.
I put the Touring-Link on my 08 FLHX. First thing I noticed was the increase in vibrations that made it to the handle bars. After I got used to that, the bike felt tighter and more stable.
I'm sure that the True-Track is just as good and provides exactly the same upgrade to the bike. I just found the price of the Touring-Link better ($200 vice $380)

My 2009 wobbled like a son a bitch. Ill spare you all I tried to fix it.
Nothing worked. Damn near kill ya in a high speed sweeper.
Installed true track for 09 and up.
No more wobble. The bike is tight, controllable all turns and speeds. No more wobble.
The frame is better in 09 and up. But don't believe that frame won't wobble cause it will and HD knows it.
I've never felt a true wobble, but the bike always was a bit squishy in turns, installing the True Trak completely fixed that, and its funny how I ride the bike completely different now, with confidence going into turns instead with caution.
Love it. Why trade a bike in to get a 2009 and up when $400 fixes it totally.
