Turn a Classic into a classic

Now it fits on the bike but trying to get the seat on with it is a different story, very, very tight and once you got it on you would not want to take it off, not very practical. Since I ride two up a lot and have a bunch of crap hooked onto my battery I needed to get it on and off quickly.
So I clipped the front tabs so they sit snug on outside of the bolts connecting the saddlebag guards, instead of being connected to them, and I clipped the two brackets on the back that get connected to the seat bolts leaving about an inch on each one. I then used “Solid steel & chrome 9-1/2" x 3/4" flat flexible brackets” form this seller timelessmotorcycleparts and made the back bracket. I just used some stainless hardware from Lowes to connect two of the brackets horizontally across the two original seat brackets, and the other two to the horizontal bracket, vertically to replace the two seat brackets I cut and bent it under the seat.
The last thing was to use Velcro to attach the seat rail to the seat. Doesn’t sound strong but once the seat is put on the bike it’s solid. If anyone is really interested I’ll take some detailed pictures.
I couldn’t find many rails that worked with the mustang and the one that do were a lot more than I was willing to spend and were not easily removed. This gave me the look I wanted when solo and allows me to go to two up with a mustang passenger pillion and a leather tour pack in a few minutes.

According to the BlenderBlaster guy that was discussed a few pages back, these are Chinese knock offs of the one he fabricates and sells.
I emailed that guy that builds them last year, he said he would email when they're done, haven't heard anything. I may go with a Legend's set-up eventually, or something to that idea.
